Planting Instructions from a 3.5" Pot:
- Choose the Right Location: Select a spot with partial to full shade. Pink Beauty Caladiums thrive best in shaded areas where they receive indirect light.
- Prepare the Soil: Ensure the soil is well-draining and rich in organic matter. You can amend the soil with compost to enhance its fertility and drainage.
- Planting:
- Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball of the 3.5" pot.
- Gently remove the plant from the pot, being careful not to damage the roots.
- Place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
- Fill in the hole with soil, pressing down gently to eliminate air pockets.
- Watering: Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil around the roots. Maintain consistently moist soil, especially during the growing season. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot.
- Mulching: Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plant to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds. Keep the mulch a few inches away from the stem to prevent rot.
- Fertilizing: Feed the plant with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage.
- Maintenance: Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to maintain the plant's appearance. Keep an eye out for pests like slugs and snails, and treat accordingly if necessary.
