Planting Instructions (From a 3.5" Pot into the Ground)
1. Choose the Location
- Select a sunny location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Ideal for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and containers.
2. Prepare the Soil
- Loosen soil 8–10 inches deep.
- Add compost if needed to improve drainage and fertility.
3. Dig the Hole
- Dig a hole twice as wide as the 3.5" pot and equal depth.
4. Remove from Pot
- Carefully remove the plant and gently loosen any circling roots.
5. Plant
- Position the root ball level with the surrounding soil surface.
- Backfill and firm soil gently.
6. Water
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Keep soil moderately moist during establishment.
7. Mulch
- Apply a light layer of mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
8. Spacing
- Space plants 3–5 feet apart to allow for mature growth and airflow.
Seasonal Care & Maintenance
- Deadhead spent flower spikes to encourage continuous blooming.
- Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges.
- Avoid excessive fertilization, which can reduce flowering.
- Water during prolonged drought periods, especially during the first growing season.
