Planting Instructions (From a 3.5" Pot into a Pot)
1. Select a Container
- Choose a pot 1–2 inches larger than the current 3.5" container.
- Ensure the pot has adequate drainage holes.
2. Choose Potting Mix
- Use a rich, well-draining potting mix designed for houseplants.
- A blend containing peat moss, coco coir, and perlite works well.
3. Prepare the Pot
- Fill the container partially with fresh potting mix.
- Position the fern so the crown sits at the same level as it was in its nursery pot.
4. Remove from the Nursery Pot
- Carefully slide the plant from the 3.5" pot.
- Gently loosen the outer roots if they are circling.
5. Plant
- Place the root ball in the center of the container.
- Fill around the roots with potting mix and gently firm the soil.
6. Water Thoroughly
- Water until excess moisture drains from the bottom.
- Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged.
7. Placement
- Place in bright indirect light indoors or a shaded outdoor location.
- Maintain humidity levels whenever possible.
Container Care & Maintenance
- Water whenever the top inch of soil begins to feel slightly dry.
- Mist occasionally or place near a humidifier in dry indoor environments.
- Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertilizer.
- Remove brown or damaged fronds to encourage fresh growth.
- Repot every 2–3 years as the plant matures.
