Planting Instructions (From a 3.5" Pot into the Ground)
1. Choose the Location
- Select a partially shaded to fully shaded area with well-drained soil.
- Ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, beneath trees, and groundcover plantings.
2. Prepare the Soil
- Loosen soil 6–8 inches deep.
- Incorporate compost or organic matter to improve moisture retention and soil structure.
3. Dig the Hole
- Dig a hole twice as wide as the 3.5" pot and equal depth.
4. Remove from Pot
- Carefully remove the plant and gently loosen any circling roots.
5. Plant
- Position the root ball level with the surrounding soil surface.
- Backfill with soil and gently firm around the roots.
6. Water Thoroughly
- Water deeply after planting.
- Keep soil consistently moist during establishment.
7. Mulch
- Apply a thin layer of mulch around the plant to help retain moisture and reduce weeds.
8. Spacing
- Space plants 12–18 inches apart for rapid groundcover coverage.
Seasonal Care & Maintenance
- Water during prolonged dry periods, especially in summer.
- Trim back overly vigorous growth as needed to maintain a tidy appearance.
- Remove damaged foliage in early spring before new growth emerges.
- Divide mature clumps every few years if desired to rejuvenate growth.
