Planting Instructions (From a 3.5" Pot into the Ground)
1. Choose the Location
- Select a location receiving at least 6 hours of sunlight daily.
- Ideal for pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, borders, and native plantings.
2. Prepare the Soil
- Loosen soil 8–10 inches deep.
- Mix in compost or organic matter to improve fertility and moisture retention.
3. Dig the Hole
- Dig a hole twice as wide as the 3.5" pot and equal depth.
4. Remove from Pot
- Carefully remove the plant and gently loosen any circling roots.
5. Plant
- Position the root ball level with the surrounding soil surface.
- Backfill and firm soil gently around the roots.
6. Water Thoroughly
- Water deeply after planting.
- Keep soil evenly moist during establishment.
7. Mulch
- Apply 2–3 inches of mulch around the base to help conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
8. Spacing
- Space plants 18–24 inches apart to encourage airflow and healthy growth.
Seasonal Care & Maintenance
- Deadhead spent flowers to extend the blooming season.
- Divide mature clumps every 3–4 years to maintain vigor.
- Water during prolonged dry periods.
- Cut stems back to the ground in late fall or early spring.
