    • Planting Instructions (from a 3.5" pot):

      1. Choose a sunny, well-drained location

      2. Dig a hole twice as wide and just as deep as the root ball

      3. Place the plant so the crown is level with the soil surface

      4. Backfill, firm the soil, and water deeply

      5. Water regularly during the first growing season; reduce watering once established

      6. Space plants 5–6 feet apart if planting in groups

      7. Cut back to 12 inches in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges
