Bee Balm ‘Fireball’ (Monarda didyma ‘Fireball’) is a dazzling, compact perennial that lights up gardens with its fiery, scarlet-red blooms. From midsummer into early fall, its vibrant, shaggy flower clusters rise above aromatic green foliage, adding color, texture, and wildlife activity to borders and pollinator gardens. Unlike taller bee balm varieties, Fireball maintains a bushy, space-saving form—perfect for smaller gardens or containers. Its mildew resistance, low maintenance, and ability to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees make it a standout for sunny landscapes.

Planting Instructions (from a 3.5" pot into the ground):

    1. Timing: Plant in spring after the last frost or in early fall while soil is warm.

    2. Location: Choose a sunny site with rich, well-drained soil.

    3. Preparation: Dig a hole twice the width of the pot and equal in depth.

    4. Planting: Remove the plant from its pot, gently loosen roots, and position it so the crown is level with the soil surface.

    5. Backfill: Replace soil, firm gently, and water thoroughly.

    6. Spacing: Space plants 18–24 inches apart for good air circulation and growth.

    7. Aftercare: Water regularly during the first growing season. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage reblooming. Cut stems back to the ground in late fall or early spring before new growth emerges.
