Planting Instructions (From a 3.5" Pot into the Ground)
1. Choose the Location
- Select a sunny location with excellent drainage.
- Ideal for rock gardens, borders, slopes, pathways, containers, and groundcover plantings.
2. Prepare the Soil
- Loosen soil 6–8 inches deep.
- Add sand or gravel if needed to improve drainage.
3. Dig the Hole
- Dig a hole twice as wide as the 3.5" pot and equal depth.
4. Remove from Pot
- Carefully remove the plant and loosen roots gently if compacted.
5. Plant
- Position the root ball level with the surrounding soil surface.
- Backfill with well-drained soil and firm gently.
6. Water
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings once established.
7. Spacing
- Space plants 12–18 inches apart for spreading groundcover coverage.
Seasonal Care & Maintenance
- Requires very little maintenance once established
- Trim lightly if needed to control spreading or refresh appearance
- Avoid overly wet or poorly drained soils, especially during winter
- Foliage develops deeper red coloration during cooler temperatures
