Planting Instructions (From a 3.5" Pot into the Ground)
1. Choose the Location
- Select a sheltered site with partial shade.
- Protect from harsh afternoon sun and strong winter winds.
2. Prepare the Soil
- Prefers acidic, well-drained soil.
- Loosen soil 10–12 inches deep and amend with organic matter such as compost or pine bark.
3. Dig the Hole
- Dig a hole twice as wide as the 3.5" pot and slightly shallower than the root ball.
4. Remove from Pot
- Gently remove the plant and loosen any circling roots.
5. Plant
- Position the plant so the top of the root ball sits slightly above soil level.
- Backfill and firm gently.
6. Water
- Water thoroughly after planting.
- Keep soil consistently moist during establishment.
7. Mulching
- Apply 2–3 inches of mulch to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.
8. Spacing
- Space plants 5–8 feet apart depending on mature size.
