Farfugium japonicum ‘Giganteum’, commonly known as Giant Leopard Plant, is a dramatic shade-loving perennial prized for its enormous glossy leaves and bold tropical appearance. The striking, kidney-shaped foliage can reach over a foot in diameter, creating a lush, architectural presence in woodland gardens, shaded borders, and water-wise landscapes. In fall and early winter, clusters of cheerful yellow daisy-like flowers rise above the foliage, adding seasonal color when many other perennials have finished blooming. Despite its exotic appearance, Farfugium is surprisingly easy to grow in moist, shaded locations and provides year-round interest in mild climates.
